Unique Student
Identifier (USI)

ACTB is CRICOS registered and welcomes students from all over the world.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Since 1 January 2015, the Australian Government has required every student enrolled in nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). From 1 January 2021, this requirement also extends to higher education students accessing Commonwealth support, and as of 2023, it is required for all students graduating with an Australian higher education award.

What is a USI?

  • A USI is your individual education number for life.
  • It gives you access to an online record of all nationally recognised training you complete in Australia.
  • It is mandatory to have a USI if you wish to receive a qualification, statement of attainment, or transcript from your training.

Why is it Required?

The USI helps you to:

  • Access a secure, government-managed digital record of your training.
  • Combine training results across different providers and years into one transcript.
  • Ensure your qualifications are recognised across Australia.
  • Comply with the Standards for RTOs 2025 and government reporting obligations.

Providing Your USI to ACTB

Once you have created your USI:

    1. Take a screenshot of the page showing your USI number, OR
    2. Forward a copy of the confirmation email you receive from the USI system.

Send your USI evidence to: admin@actb.com.au

📌 If you already have a USI from previous study in Australia, you must provide it to ACTB at enrolment.

Privacy & Security

Your USI information is protected by law under the Student Identifiers Act 2014 and the Privacy Act 1988.

  • ACTB will only use your USI for official training and reporting purposes.
  • Your USI will not be shared without your consent, except where required by law.
