Please note that elective units may be changed at any stage at the discretion of the College.  You will not be disadvantaged, if you have already commenced study of a particular Elecrive as part of your program.

Transition information for existing students

Students enrolled in the superseded version- BSB51107 Diploma of Management will have the opportunity to complete their qualification during the transittion period, as long as they complete their course requirements no later than 2 March 2016.

Program delivery

Self-paced (Must be completed within 12 months from the date of commencement)

All course materials will be made available either online or via email. You will be able to print most of the course materials, as required. You are advised to follow the nominal hours allocated to each unit as a guide to self-pacing your study You will have access to a course coordinator during the college term.  You will be able to contact your course coordinator by email or telephone during the term for one on one assistance.  We try to provide as much support as needed, so please do not hesitate to contact your course coordinator, whenever you need any assistance.

This course is designed to support you in gaining employment across a diverse range of industries as managers, supervisors and team leaders in small businesses, or in medium to large scale companies.

Learning Pathways:

On successful completion of this course, graduates may consider further study at a higher tertiary level within the vocational education and training sector.  After achieving the BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management, candidates may undertake the Advanced Diploma of Management or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications.

Pathway options can be discussed with students upon completion of studies.Articulation: Individual students who are seeking to continue their study at university should contact the prospective university upon completion of the course for any credit transfer arrangements.

Teaching-learning resources may include:

Study guides, textbooks, electronic notes, web resources and reading material.  Students will learn management skills and techniques via tproject work, practical exercises, individual studies, research and presentations using industry-standard applications and materials/tools.

Assessment methods and tools may include:  Written tasks (workbook, recognition of prior learning, tests, assignments, examinations), group work and discussions (case studies, role plays), project (workplace research project), and simulated or workplace performance (practical demonstration with observation checklists).  Assessment results recognise student achievement against each competency.

Entry requirements

  • Completed Year 12 or its equivalent
  • Mature age (18 years and over) with language, literacy, and numeracy proficiency.
  • Overseas candidates require English language proficiency IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) provides students an opportunity to have their current skills and competencies recognised.  These skills and competencies may relate to units you are about to commence and as a result can exempt you from studying these units.  However, there is a cost related to obtaining Recognition of Prior Learning.  The process requires students to gather evidence confirming their competency.  A content specialist will advise you in this task.  Enquire if you think you qualify.  If the education provider grants an overseas student RPL, it may impact on student visa conditions through a shortening of the student’s course.  For further details regarding entry requirements, please contact: info@actb.com.au
